The Worldwide Wrestling Promotions upstart in Florida looks to be dead even before it got started. None of the wrestlers or even those in management capacities that were set to work with the project have had any communication in months with those organizing the promotion.

-- As noted late last night here on the website, TNA has released the current TNA Knockouts Tag Team champion Ayako Hamada. There's no word on why yet, and the company began a tournament at tonight's taping to fill the title vacancy. More as we get it.

-- WrestleReunion posted the following on their official website: The Saturday Night Battle Royal will be a 20 man over the top rope competition. Battle royals used to be a big part of California wrestling in the 50s, 60s and 70s and this was the original motivation in our desire to renew the tradition and putting it as a centerpiece of the convention. In 1972 the Los Angeles Battle Royal was named Pro Wrestling Illustrated "Apter Mags" match of the year which was won by frequent WrestleReunion guest "The Living Legend" Bruno Sammartino. A lot of guests also thought it was a great idea as wrestlers like Roddy Piper, Terry Funk and Mike Graham are making a very rare appearance in a wrestling ring. While we were polishing up on our LA Area Wrestling History by reading old match results and searching YouTube for any footage that exists of the LaBell family promotion, we noticed most of the big stars have passed away and we weren't able to properly represent the SoCal territory through this convention by booking its top stars. Guys like John Tolos, Classie Freddie Blassie,Lou Thesz, Gorgeous George, Black Gordman, Goliath, the Original Shiek and others created a territory that dated back to the 20s and ran regionally up until the early 80s. We noticed one guy's name that turned up on a lot of results as the territory was winding down and realized we had a strong link to the LA territory right under our noseā€¦ Mr. Rock Riddle will enter the battle royal as the last remaining Los Angeles native still capable of lacing up the boots and will be 1 of the 20 members chosen to participate in this tribute match. A wrestler at heart Rock has also carved out a career in the entertainment industry as an actor, producer and networking specialist for many in the entertainment field. The audience could be filled with actors, producers, directors and others who will want to see their friend and co worker Rock Riddle lace up the boots one more time. For those that are not familiar with Rock Riddle, check out his official bio at this link. Deluxe Photo Ops and Video Ops are scheduled to go on sale December 15th. We are working on a schedule that also includes exact times/prices so you can make an informed decision on how you want to spend your time and money at this convention. We are less than 2 months away! VIP ticket prices will increase after today to $129. We appreciate all those that have already bought VIP tickets and invested in the convention before you knew exactly what you were buying. We owe you one more name and the delay in announcing it isn't by our choice. We have 5 remaining agreements out to wrestlers and the first one to sign will be the final person announced as a VIP and any others than send it back signed will be added as vendor guest. Its been clear that we're trying to make this add an international guest. We're sad to say that Tajiri finally did write back to us and he has informed us that he will not be able to attend this year. We're also sad to say that one of our top targets, Dr. Wagner Jr has an expiring work Visa and although he has a strong interest in attending the event, he has to straighten out this issue before he can commit to an appearance in January. He is currently the biggest star in Mexico and it would be an absolutely privilege if he's able to join us at Wrestlereunion. We expect ROH to make an announcement soon that will reward the premium ticket holders (first 2 rows). In addition to having Shelton/Haas on Friday night, they are bringing the entire "A team" for this event and will be announcing things shortly. PWG has their next show on December 11th and I"m sure we'll see some announcements about the January show after this date. I"ll give you a little teaser, Generation Me/Young Bucks have already been confirmed and will be wrestling on the Saturday night show.

The TNA Knockout Tag Titles are worth nothing if they don't get some sort of deal with another promotion to use outside joshi talent. That's pretty much how WCW got the Cruiserweight Championship credibility going; why not do the same for the Knockout Tag Titles?
