Masked WWE wrestler Sin Cara has proclaimed his innocence to Mexican newspaper The Record, after being suspended on Monday for violating the WWE Talent Wellness Policy.
Sin Cara says when he was informed that he tested positive for steroids, he requested clarification on the matter and noted that he will be meeting with company officials this week to follow up. He said many medications contain steroids and he believes a routine injection to his knee to alleviate nagging pain triggered the false positive. He denied taking steroids, citing that he's not built like someone who takes them.
Regarding his real name being made public, which is considered taboo in lucha libre, the Smackdown star says it was wrong but fans are more interested in the mystery of his face, not his name.
