Further Update on Batista's First MMA Fight

After stating in a recent interview that he wanted to have his first fight by March, it appears fight fans will have to just a bit longer to see "The Animal" inside a cage.

In an interview with Ariel Hawani of Fanhouse.com, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said that Batista is training hard for his first professional fight, which will take place for the Strikeforce promotion in the second quarter of 2011.

Coker said "there's still dialogue" with Batista and they are hoping to have him fight on one of their shows between April and June of 2011.

There have been reports that Batista's negotiations have taken longer than expected due to money issues. Batista is looking for a 3-fight deal from the promotion.

Doesn't matter how many fights is in his deal, after a couple embaressing losses, he'll be gone.

I don't see how this is related to how Lesnar went off at all. Lesnar left to try and make an NFL team, then after he got cut started training in MMA at the age of 29. Batista just left straight for MMA at the age of 40. One left to pursue other ventures first when he was entering his athletic prime, the other went into MMA when he was old and more useless than James Toney.

I meant by when both of these guys have Made it big, they have gone off and left the WWE for MMA or NFL.....

I get the feeling there aren't a lot of men in their 40s in MMA.

Bet he ends up going to TNA where he'll be treated like a god because he's a former WWE star.

Don't worry, Batista won't make it big.

Batista has the potential....But yeah i have to agree, he wont.
